August Hopefuls

How about a different type of post to start August out? I gotta say this is not an easy one for me because I am a TOTAL mood reader. Hence why I have had things on my TBR for years, but continue to read things that I just bought last week way before I ever get to those old ones. I average about four to five books a month, but have been in a little bit of a reading rut the last couple of weeks. Here are all of the books I hope to read in August:
1. The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune
This is the first one that I'm starting out with. I've seen it everywhere on Instagram and the cover gets me, too. I'm really looking forward to this one and trying to get out of my reading rut and get 'er done!
2. The Last Thing He Told Me by Laura Dave
Book of the Month has not been doing so hot the last couple of months (major sad face). I am SUPER ready to get to this one, though. It sounded *pretty* good when I chose it a few months ago, but @betweenthelines_kp and @dearbooks_iloveyou pushed the excitement level right on up with this one. Hopefully you'll be seeing a review from me soon!
3. Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah
I think I'm finally ready to do another Kristin Hannah. I love her writing and stories, but hello. The Great Alone WRECKED me and I was very un-emotionally prepared for another one of her books for awhile. I thiiiink I can do another one now...Plus, I really wanna watch the Netflix series
Side note: I'm REALLY picky about my covers and every time I look at this one I despise myself for being too impatient to find the original cover.
4. Betty by Tiffany McDaniel
This one has been out for awhile and the KC Lit Ladies book club read it in June. I had seen it several times before, but never really read what it was about. I didn't end up getting to it in June to read with them, but I originally got it for that and it sparked my interest. Big time.
5. Bringing Down the Duke by Evie Dunmore
This is another "Instagram made me do it" book. I haven't been in the mood for it yet and I'm still not sure if I am...but we shall see. I think this has been compared to Bridgerton or is highly recommended for Bridgerton lovers, so I know I will probably love it once I decide to read it. I've got the sequel waiting for me, too. :
Let me know what you think about these books and if we have any of the same hopefuls this month in the contact area below!! :)
